3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage

  • All patient records and appointments are stored locally on your device using encrypted Room Database

  • Data remains on your device even when offline

  • User Isolation: Each user's data is completely isolated - you can only access your own records

3.2 Cloud Storage (Firebase)

When you sign in with Google, we use Firebase services:

  • Firebase Authentication: Securely manages your login

  • Cloud Firestore: Optionally syncs your data for backup and multi-device access

  • Security Rules: Strict Firebase Security Rules ensure you can only access your own data

3.3 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • Encryption: Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest

  • User Authentication: Google Sign-In provides secure authentication

  • Access Control: Each user can only access their own patient records and appointments

  • Secure Connection: All network communications use HTTPS/SSL

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 No Third-Party Sharing

We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal information or patient data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4.2 Service Providers

We use the following trusted service providers:

  • Google Firebase: For authentication and optional cloud backup

  • Hostinger: For email services (support@docucare.tech)

These providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and can only use your data to provide services to us.

5. Your Data Rights

5.1 Access and Control

You have complete control over your data:

  • View: Access all your patient records and appointments at any time

  • Edit: Update patient information and appointment details

  • Delete: Move records to Recycle Bin or permanently delete them

5.2 Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time:

  • Go to Menu → Delete Account

  • This will permanently delete:

    • Your account

    • All patient records

    • All appointments

    • All cloud backups

  • This action cannot be undone

5.3 Data Export

Currently, data export features are under development. Contact us at support@docucare.tech if you need your data exported.

6. Data Retention

6.1 Active Data

  • Patient records and appointments are retained as long as you maintain your account

  • You can delete individual records at any time using the Recycle Bin feature

6.2 Deleted Data

  • Soft Delete: When you delete a record, it moves to Recycle Bin for 30 days (or until manually deleted)

  • Permanent Delete: After permanent deletion, data is immediately removed from all our systems

  • Account Deletion: All data is permanently deleted within 24 hours of account deletion

6.3 Backup Data

  • Cloud backups (if enabled) are deleted when you delete your account

  • No residual data remains on our servers after account deletion

7. Children's Privacy

DocuCare is intended for use by medical professionals only and is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@docucare.tech.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside your country of residence. By using DocuCare, you consent to the transfer of information to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection rules.

We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

9.1 Google Sign-In
